Australia are set to field two or even three debutants in the final limited overs match against India in Mumbai on Wednesday after Mitchell Johnson and Shane Watson were allowed to return home early.
NSW quick Burt Cockley and Victorian allrounder Andrew McDonald will play their first limited overs matches for Australia, while young spinner Jon Holland's inclusion may depend on whether or not Nathan Hauritz would like a game off.
While the series is already won, the tourists are nonetheless keen to maintain the momentum they have built over this series despite so many injuries.
Captain Ricky Ponting identified the collective will and effort of the men as the main difference between his side and a more star-laden but less consistent Indian team.
"We have more even contribution from our players than they have," Ponting said.
"You go back to the 'rev up' speech (I gave) ahead of the fifth game and that was all about us not having all those superstars in our side.
"India has a lot of superstars in the side but I didn't care about that because I knew if we had 11 guys contribute, they would overpower their two or three superstars.
"That is what we have seen in the series so far. I think they have two of the four top run scorers in the series, (Sachin) Tendulkar and (MS) Dhoni, we have two as well.
"... We have had more contributors."
